"to give graciously of what is mine"
Service to others is an integral part of being a Delta Zeta. Delta Zeta partners with the Starkey Hearing Foundation to provide individuals with the gift of hearing. The Starkey Hearing Foundation uses hearing as a vehicle to change lives around the world. Starkey creates opportunities to better the lives of those affected. Our national service project, The Painted Turtle Camp, is a camp for terminally-ill children. This camp is free to the families and is run entirely on donations. The Painted Turtle’s mission is to provide a year-round, life-changing environment and authentic camp experience for children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Starkey Hearing Foundation has pledged to provide more than one million hearing aids annually. In addition, we assist local and national speech and hearing organizations, such as Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. and the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, California. Gallaudet University is the only four-year liberal arts school in the world devoted wholly to the needs, instruction, and training of young people with major hearing loss. The House Ear Institute is one of the world's foremost research, teaching, and treatment centers in the field of hearing.
